Warehouse Management System - Software as a Service

"Promises Delivered"

Software as a Service -- DEFINITION: Software as a service (SaaS) is a software distribution model in which applications such as warehouse management systems (WMS) are hosted by a vendor or service provider and made available to customers over a network, typically the Internet.

Corporate IT is being drawn to the concept of software delivered as a service and its promise of less maintenance and lower operational costs. Corporations are turning increasingly to the SaaS On-Demand model because the up-front costs are lower, there are lower total costs per user and lower total costs of ownership. There is also a dramatic change in the economic model from a capitalized expenditure to a manageable monthly expense.

Emerge Logisticsannounces the introduction of its new On-Demand Warehouse Management System - EmergeWMS. This system enables Emerge customers to access inventory, process shipment requests, generate on-line reports and interface to VAN systems and ground shipping services. The warehouse management sytem is avaliable to all Emerge customers and requires simply an Internet connection. The system may be used at multiple warehouse locations throughout the country. Customers can store products at competing warehouses but access information through a single Emerge Logistics connection.
